Application: Our engine skid plate for the ZJ Grand Cherokee accommodates stock height Grands and works great on lifted ones as well.
We have models for both the 6 and 8 cylinder engines with automatic transmission. Installation requires drilling only 2 holes through the transmission cross-member. It's mounting height is also adjustable to accommodate changes in your exhaust system. It protects your oil pan, exhaust, and transmission from damage no matter what the trail throws at you. Not only does it provide protection, but it prevents your Jeep from getting hung up on the transmission cross-member by providing a smooth surface to slide over obstacles with.
Specs: Mounted in three locations, it provides you with the best protection you can get for your Grand Cherokee. And you don't have to remove it to change your oil! This engine skid plate mounts to the transmission cross-member at the rear. On the passenger side it mounts using the bolt for the lower control arm. On the driver's side there is a two piece mounting hoop that goes over the driveshaft and attaches to the lower control arm bolt also. All of this makes for a very sturdy skid plate that gives you plenty of clearance for your driveshaft and exhaust.
